CHILDREN AND YOUTH MINISTRIES
Helping our children remain involved in the church as they get older is a high priority for our congregation. At Bethel one of our goals is to help our children and youth discover their gifts for ministry and find the best way they can use these gifts for the glory of God. We provide a safe environment for children to gather, share, discover and experience God's love in their life.
We provide many programs and services for our children and youth including, the Children’s Sermon, Nursery Care, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and a Youth Group.
Each week, the children of the congregation gather before the altar to hear a message from our Pastor geared especially for them. For many, this children's talk is the high point of their worship experience.
The Nursery Bethel Lutheran Church is designed to provide a safe, secure, and loving environment for our children. While you are learning and worshiping, you can relax and feel confident that your child is receiving excellent care. As we desire the best care for our infants and toddlers, the adult-to-child ratio is kept extremely low. We utilize church member volunteers on a rotating basis, to assist our paid caregiver.
Through Bethel’s Sunday School Program we hope to teach the love and meaning of God's Word to the young people of our congregation in a safe and loving environment. Sunday School is available for children age 4 through High School.
Vacation Bible School
We are very proud of our VBS Program; open to our children, and children of our community. Each summer, we conduct a fun-filled week of bible stories, games, crafts, singing, and much more. During VBS the kids explore Bible stories about Jesus and his never ending love for them.
Our Youth gather together as Christians, to connect with each other, and grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. They incorporate these learnings into their decision-making process, as they become independent and gain their own identity in Christ. Our youth are encouraged to take part in worship services, and ministry service projects throughout the year, volunteering their time and efforts to help others in our community and our church. Youth participate in events such as Operation Inasmuch and Relay for Life. Our youth also enjoying visiting the residents in nursing homes and delivering Valentine cards and letters.
Confirmation and Catachism
Confirmation is a program where the children of Bethel are prepared for membership in the church. This program focuses on the relationship between their faith and the Scriptures. Ultimately they confirm the faith that was begun at their baptism, and has now grown into that of a young person in Christ.
