Clubs and Groups
CLUBS & GROUPS
Participating in a club or group is one of the best ways to build community and encourage spiritual growth at Bethel. Through these congregational wide opportunities, you can connect with others as you grow in your relationship with Christ.
Bethel Supper Club
If you’re looking for a great way to meet new people, get connected, and enjoy great fellowship, fun and food, we invite you to join the Supper Club. If you are new to Bethel, or if you’ve been around here for years, this is a great place to start. Supper Club is a potluck dinner for adults at a host’s home, where up to eight people meet in an informal and relaxed setting. Couples and Singles are all welcome. If you have any questions regarding the Club or would like more information, please contact Bonnie Derrick at email@example.com.
If you love the outdoors and the fun of camping with others, this is the group for you! Established in 1993, the Bethel Campers gather several times throughout the year for a weekend of camping where together they share fellowship, devotions and some meals while enjoying God’s creation. All levels of campers are invited; from tent campers to motorhome drivers! Everyone is welcome! For more information or to sign up for the next trip contact Nat McCartha at 803-345-2813.
Friends In Faith
Friends In FaithConnecting to a group of friends who can support, encourage and uplift you in your faith is an important step in anyone’s journey with Christ. In this spirit, Friends In Faith comes together monthly in fun and fellowship. We are a diverse group of women and men, ages 35-55, who believe that discipleship happens best in groups that share life together. Our group is very accepting and has a great time socializing, learning, and serving the Lord. We invite you to join us at our next event. For more information and to become involved please feel free to contact Carla Derrick-Chaney at firstname.lastname@example.org
People Enjoying People (PEP)
This group works to demonstrate how the "Sunday experience" can be carried out into the weekday world. The members of the PEP Team represent the Bethel congregation as they reach out with love and concern to persons with special needs.
Focus of the ministry is in five areas:
- Nursing Home Residents
- Hospitalized Members
- First-time Visitors
- New Members
Visits to these people serve as vivid reminders that we are all part of God's family, That we "belong." To become a part of this special group, please contact Nat McCartha at 803-345-2813.
Theology on Tap
Theology on Tap is a time for people to get together and engage in an informal discussion about matters that pertain to their faith. Common topics include the Bible, Christianity, church history, other religions and Lutheranism. Relaxed and casual, this gathering is for EVERYONE. The main point is to eat together, enjoy our favorite beverage and engage in topics of discussion about issues of faith and life. To join us, please see our Upcoming Events page or contact the Church Office at 803-781-2134.
White Rock Friends
White Rock Friends offers people in the White Rock area opportunities for fellowship and growth. The group meets at 10:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month for a program and lunch in Bethel’s fellowship hall. Programs are eclectic and varied, offering entertainment and/or information about topics of interest and concern to adults. While most of those who participate in White Rock Friends are retired members of our congregation, younger adults and members of the community at large are welcome. For more information about White Rock Friends, contact Jane Sites at 803-749-1335.
